Oprah: At the time he did that movie he was ten years old, now he's twelve years old, Freddie Highmore in the new wonderful movie Finding Neverland, which opens in theatres November 12th, please welcome...[to Johnny] you're going to introduce him for us?
Johnny: Oh yeah - Freddie Highmore.
Kate: Yay, Freddie. (applause)
*Freddie walks on stage, and shakes hands with Johnny and Oprah, and sits in between Kate and Johnny, to lots of audience applause*
Oprah: Goodness, we have never seen anyone quite like you, ever.
Freddie: Thanks.
Oprah: Never. (applause) Ever. So did you grow up wanting to...grow up, well, you're...(laughter) - did you always want to be an actor?
Freddie: Well I wasn't sure, uh, when I was young I thought of becoming -
Oprah: When you were young....(laughter)
Freddie: (laughs) Well yeah, when I was young, when I was younger I thought it would be quite fun to do small parts and see how it went and so I went to an audition and I did a small part, and then the parts got bigger and bigger and...
Oprah: The parts got bigger and bigger, so how old, how young were you when you did your first one?
Freddie: I think I was about five. (smiles, as audience "awws")
Oprah: Really? Would you say that this is your biggest part?
Freddie: Yeah, yeah, definitely.
Oprah: Now I had read that Johnny is your hero, is that correct, is that a correct...?
Freddie: Yeah, yeah, it is, yeah he is a hero of mine...and of course Kate is my heroine (Kate hugs him and the audience "awws" again, and applauds)
Oprah: [to Kate] Have you ever worked with a child actor...like this?
Kate: [To Freddie] I have to put my fingers in your ears so I don't spoil you. Um, no, I've never worked with a child actor like Freddie, um, because Freddie is...Freddie, and there's simply no one else like him. (applause) I mean... (Freddie laughs and Kate touches his cheek affectionately)
Oprah: You can feel him giving, you can feel him in the scenes, you can.
Kate: Well yes you absolutely can, and you can't help but react to the honesty that he's giving you.
Oprah: Yeah, it's pure. Clean, clean, clean.
Kate: It's completely pure. But at the same time, I would like to say that Freddie is also very much a keen footballer, and a totally normal kid who would round the boys up at lunchtimes and they all completely played together and, they all got along so great, that was one of the really great things, [to Freddie], wasn't it, about the film...
Freddie: Yeah, yeah.
Kate: You know, it was very much a really happy family.
Oprah: Good.
Kate: But uh, of course it's a cliche, but it was true, it really was like that.
Oprah: [To Freddie] So, you're going to be doing another movie with Johnny, is that true?
Freddie: Yeah, we're doing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. (cheers and applause)
Oprah: Oh are you? So tell us about it, tell us about it.
Freddie: I can't say too much...(laughter) but it, it's fantastic.
Oprah: (Rolls her eyes, and there is more laughter) Can you say who you play?
Freddie: Yeah, I play Charlie. (applause and "awws")
Oprah: Fantastic! Fantastic. Well congratulations to you, it was just an outstanding performance.
Freddie: Thanks a lot.
Oprah: Thanks to my guests, Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet and Freddie Highmore - remember the movie Finding Neverland it is really great, isn't it audience? (applause) It's just...wonderful. Opens November 12th.
