Freddie: 'I Wasn't The Only Kid on Set!'ThisIsNorthScotland.co.uk, 2007 Freddie Highmore has revealed how much fun it was to work with Robin Williams on the set of August Rush - joking that he "wasn't the only kid on set". In the romantic fairytale, Freddie plays unusually gifted orphan August, who finds himself in the care of the enigmatic Wizard, played by the stand-up comedian and actor. "He was great," Freddie smiles. "He was always on - it's like he's in a live comedy show all the time. "He tries to make people relax on the set whilst he's there. The whole day - he started in make-up and it brings everyone together and everyone enjoyed it." The 15-year-old actor - whose other credits include Finding Neverland and Charlie And The Chocolate Factory - said working through the scripts with Robin was like having a chat. "The way Robin works the dialogue it's more like a conversation," he adds. "It feels more natural even when he took us off the page. I would find myself talking and answering questions in the way that August would answer them. Robin became Wizard and I became August. It was fantastic. He's so good at it - I just tried to follow his lead." |
